Sample requirements:
Referrals for MLH1 promotor hypermethylation/MSI testing require 5 x 10 µm mounted FFPE sections (unstained and uncharged). Please ensure that the tumour cell content is provided and an H&E-stained section with areas of tumour clearly marked is send alongside the sample material.
Test requests:
Electronic test requesting and reporting is available through the RMH Order&View portal. For further details and to obtain access to the system please contact the O&V system administrator Henry Coleman (Henry.Coleman@rmh.nhs.uk / Admin.OrderView@rmh.nhs.uk).
Alternatively, samples can be send with a completed request form and reports will be returned by nhs.net. You can access the test request form here. Please provide the relevant contact information on the request form.

MLH1 Promotor Hypermethylation testing is available for known cases of colorectal cancer and endometrial cancer for the evaluation of Lynch syndrome.
