Liz is the Chief Nurse of the North Thames Genomic Medicine Service Alliance. Her role is to support the embedding of genomics in everyday practice for Nurses, Midwives & Health Visitors to improve genomic literacy. With over 20 years’ experience in Cancer Genetics research, she has a specific interest in the mainstreaming of genetics into cancer screening and treatment pathways and upskilling the Nursing workforce.
Liz also works as a Nurse Consultant in Oncogenetics Research at the Royal Marsden Hospital and is Associate Honorary Faculty in the Division of Genetics and Epidemiology at the Institute of Cancer Research. She established and leads a nurse-led prostate cancer genetic risk clinic at the Royal Marsden, providing the ideal setting to translate novel genetic technologies for prostate cancer risk-management into clinical practice. She holds an NIHR Senior Clinical Research Practitioner Award and leads a programme of research looking at the psychosocial aspects of integrating genetics into the prostate cancer screening and treatment pathway.
