Main duties of the job
This role is for a diligent EPR Analyst to join the North Thames Genomics team for a 12-month fixedterm contract to support the Alpha phase of a National Genomic order management system.
Currently genomic test requests vary nationally. Whilst some regions have incorporated electronictest requests, predominantly most requesters rely on paper-based processes. The NHS England Genomics Unit (NHSE GU) have an ambition to introduce an electronic ordermanagement system. It is envisaged this system will include the transfer of data between the orderingorganisation and the organisation where the lab is based via a ‘central broker’. This includes placingthe order in the home EPR system, the delivery of the test request to the laboratory where thegenomic testing will be done, sample status, test status updates and delivery of the report(s).
The EPR Analyst will play a crucial role in developing the EPR/ LIMS for the Trust in order to connect with the central broker. It is a very exciting time to join the Trust and be part of the first ever national electric test ordering system for genomics.
